Description
Build Beyond is one of the few clinically focused conference event tailored to working with survivors of trafficking. Taught by subject matter experts, this annual conference goes beyond the basics, sharing effective clinical models and best practices for human trafficking recovery services. The 2021 conference focus was understanding and developing treatment strategies for “bottoms”; victims whose survival strategies include recruiting others.
Objectives
Conquering the Game: Survival & Strategies of Recruiters
Participants will gain an understanding of:
- The sub-culture of trafficking and “the game”
- How to assess and minimize recruiting risks in group/residential settings
- Be able to distinguish the unique trauma bonds between bottoms and their traffickers
- The impact of criminalization of bottoms
- Utilizing techniques to harness leadership skills and utilize strengths-based approach
