Description
Build Beyond is one of the few clinically focused conference event tailored to working with survivors of trafficking. Taught by subject matter experts, this annual conference goes beyond the basics, sharing effective clinical models and best practices for human trafficking recovery services. The 2023 conference focus for Day 2 was using IFS with survivors of trafficking/exploitation, impacts of generational trauma, and experiential therapy methods.
Objectives
Learners will:
- Discuss a brief overview of IFS
- Describe the benefits of Using IFS with Trauma Survivors
- Understand how cultural systems and experiences can impact engagement with providers
- Design strategies to reduce barriers and strengthen rapport
- Define Generational Trauma and Attachment Styles
- Engage Generational Trauma in Parts Work
- Demonstrate the use of experiential exercises to develop connection and awareness to various parts
- Demonstrate the use of experiential exercises with various attachment types
